The Man in the Mirror
29 December 2009, 12:25pm

Just some thoughts about Michael Jackson. His kind heart should bless him to enjoy the peace he never really enjoyed when he was alive.

Today, I watched a Chinese TV program about Michael Jackson. Like all the TV program that came out after he died, people in the whole world tried to use the limited documentations, pictures and videos to describe the entire life of the King of Pop, the legend and the controversy.

There was one point on the TV program kinda made me sad: when he was alive, all people were crazy to chase all kinds of the weird news about him. after he died, people started to remember all kinds of different charity events he had been involved. people started to praise his songs and dances as they were real arts.

we are pathetic. this is the human natural for a lot of people to believe what everybody says. i used to be one of those people, wondering he was such a weird strange guy when i was reading all the bad comments about his lawsuit with the boys and his cosmetic surgeries. Until the day i went to the theater and watched "THIS IS IT", i started to feel Michael Jackson he was a great guy, even it was only on the stage, it still seemed to be enough.

After the accidentally unexpected end of the King of Pop, the whole world seemed to start thinking what we've done to his life. All the criticisms about his personal life, actually were none of anyone's business. He owned his face, he can do whatever he want to his face, why would we care? The court released him according to the non-guilty judgement, why did we still judge him without any clear evidence? People criticized all his crazy behaviors and never kindly thought maybe it was just too much to him. He was not crazy. maybe he was just sick because of the crazy world.

I think as a human being, Michael Jackson has been perfectly finished his responsibility to this world. He made some awesome songs. He danced like the king of the stage. He helped a lot of people. He donated a lot of money. He tried really hard to survive on this world. Actually, I think he might did a lot more than most people in this world.

Nobody knows what he would think every time when he looked at himself in the mirror. Was he happy? Was he sad? Was he lonely? Who did he think he was, the King of Pop, the little boy in Jackson 5, or someone else? What did he want, only love? We don't know. and we don't need to know. that's private. we are only the reader of his life. we read different information. but if we are good people, we read the good information and try to be a good person as he tried to be.

He was a star. He was a symbol of a time. But after all, he was just a human. He was not the only man in the mirror. But, at least, he made some changes to this world not only to himself.

THE Lowly Peon

[29 December 2009]

michael jackson is the man. and it does make me sad how everyone gave him such a hard time. to a degree, i think he asked for the press by being so weird. but i've always tried to just look at his music (and dancing and videos and such) and leave the rest of it alone. he's weird, but it's not my business.
