THE Lowly Peon

sweeny todd

last night, kate and i went to see sweeny todd. it was a lot of fun going to see it with her, even though what she saw was 16 minutes (and a time zone) ahead of me. it was a pretty entertaining movie, i must say. it wasn't the best movie i've seen in a while, and it wasn't tim burton's, johnny depp's, or tim depp's best movie, but i enjoyed it. i must admit ignorance and tell you that i had no idea it was a musical. i knew it was based on a musical, since Paul, klcomp, The Invincible Blab and i talked about it a few weeks back, thus encouraging a bit of research. except for a few, i'm not much a fan of musicals, but this one fit for some reason. i also have a strange crush on helena bonham carter. i'd recommend it, as long as you don't mind some really gruesome violence. anyone seen any good movies? i wanna watch a bunch before i leave to china this saturday, since they don't seem to get too many good ones over there (unless they're bootlegged DVDs), so i figured i'd try to scratch any itches before i get them

I had a great time! I wouldn't have liked that movie nearly as much if it hadn't been for the excellent company I saw it with. And I don't mean the people sitting two rows behind me who told me to put the fing phone away around text message 23...
