THE Lowly Peon

MobileMe
20 June 2009, 3:49pm

i've been thinking about it for over a year now. to mobile me, or not to mobile me? is $99/yr worth it? i already have gmail (which i'll keep), i already have significant online storage (which i'll keep). but syncing across many computers is a pain. and syncing them with gmail is a pain. mobile me, for now at least, seems to have solved my problems.

i signed up for the 60 day trial (my name is thelowlypeon), and so far, i think i'll keep it, simply for the syncing (absolutely flawless thus far, and it pushes updates to my phone!). and a really neat feature that i hope i'll never need to use: if my phone is lost or stolen, i can log in to any computer and view my phone's location using GPS. and, if i need to, i can even erase everything on the phone, in order to protect my data (which is important!).for the most part, i think i'll stick with my current routines. but this syncing is beautiful. don't even need to think of it anymore. and they provide a pretty neat photo gallery, which integrates very easily with my iPhone and iPhoto. so that's nice too.now i just need to figure out a way to get my gmail to utilize MobileMe's push functionality to get my email to my phone instantly (without needing to organize two sets of email, which is a pain)...
