a few weeks ago, I went to Chengdu to bring one of our sales offices onto our wide area network. I stayed at the sheraton because of a miscommunication with my colleague (ha. life is rough, eh?). at the Sheraton, they have a small little French style cafe in the lobby, with decent coffee/espresso drinks, and a bunch of super-sweet pastries.
at the time, I was excited to be back on my china mobile plan because I could use Internet — even if slow — as much as I wanted. and I had gotten pretty used to chatting with all of my US-bound friends, as I was stateside for some time immediately prior.
so, each morning, I went down for a strong cup of 美式 coffee, a chocolate pastry, and played on my iPhone, chatting with several of you via google voice (note that this was the web app, not the native app that has been rejected not approved rejected not approved by apple). it was very enjoyable.
now, back in Hangzhou, I continue to use the google voice web app to communicate with several of you.
and every single time I do, I want some strong coffee and a chocolate pastry.
