Small World: Avalantern Stats

You know, perhaps no one comes to avalantern anymore except for three or four of you. But it still is really cool to think that the few of us are communicating, using a couple of tiny little electronic devices, from all over the world. Here are some simple stats about Avalantern visitors.

I've been looking at Google Analytics, as well as the Avalantern recents page, and noticed a few things:

• As of August, when Avalantern first launched, about 15 unique people came to the site every day. Nowadays, that's more like 6. And that's probably because the three people that come to the site also have iPhones or use their work computers as well as their home computers. This correlates to about 30 visits a day, compares to over 50 in August.
• On a daily basis, avalantern gets anywhere from 50 page views to 250, varying due to the content (I assume if no one posts, people only check the recent page or their messages).
• Over 50% of visitors are using Safari on a Mac, about 25% are using an iPhone/iTouch, and the only other combination worth speaking of is saulemander and me while at work, using Firefox on Windows. The chrome users have been increasing though!
• Supporting my hypothesis above, most of the traffic comes from the US, China, and the UK (in that order), with a surprising amount of traffic from HK. And maggie33 brought South Korea on the map.
• Within the states, sweet home Chicago provided nearly a third of all visits, with Texas as a close second, followed by California and Colorado. Oddly, Virginia had about the same number as Colorado. Not sure who you are, but welcome, and thanks for coming!
