THE Lowly Peon

Summer (II)
03 May 2010, 9:54am

Oh man. Somehow while my eyes were closed, summer arrived in China.

Last week, there were even times I was cold. Friday, while I was packing for my trip with daisy to Suzhou, I contemplated how many layers to take — is a jacket enough? should i bring a hoodie? — figuring we'd be spending a bunch of time outside. Sure enough, the day we showed up, it was a whopping 85 degrees. And apparently it was only worse in Hangzhou.

I just rode a bike home from the north bus station, and by the time I got home (it's pretty far, maybe 45 minutes), my clothes had soaked almost all the way through.

I miss winter/spring already. Or at least anything but a southern Chinese summer.
