One small change I've made for my Week of Discontent is that I've been taking shorter, colder showers. I've done this before, but have somehow fallen out of practice. daisy always makes fun of me for taking such cold showers, and she hasn't even seen how cold they've been lately!
Cold showers, or so the science goes, make your blood go inwards, to your muscles, whereas a hot shower makes your blood go toward your skin. Thus, colder showers make you feel more refreshed and awake, while hot showers tend to make you feel drowsy. I used to take warm showers only if I were about to go to bed, figuring relaxing couldn't hurt. But recently, nope. A bit warm to make sure the soap is effective, then the rest is icy cold. And wow! I've been sleeping better, feeling cleaner, and feel way more alert after a shower.
If you're not into the whole cold shower thing, I strongly recommend it (just ask benji!). If anything, take a normal shower while you wash, and make the last minute or two cold. Not freezing, but cold.
