A lot has been happening in my life recently. In fact, it's been exceptionally exciting. And in the midst of all of it, I've learned something.
I'm not totally sure which is the chicken and which is the egg, but I've noticed two patterns:
I am much happier during times when I'm thinking a lot. Or rather, when I'm thinking a lot, about whatever, whether it's the future, some algorithm that's been stumping me, or what I'll have for lunch, I feel much happier.
I am much happier during times when it seems like there's not enough time in the world to listen to all the music I want to. Or rather, during those times when I always know what I want to listen to next, and there's never a time when I scroll through my iPod waiting for something to jump out, I feel much happier.
Again, I'm not sure which is the cause and which is the effect, I only know clearly that they are related closely. And right now, my mind is racing and crystal clear, and I have been enjoying this evening's musical selection more than I can describe.
(In case you're interested, I started with Siamese Dream, then went on to Bob Marley, and now I'm struggling not to dance across my living room to 40oz to freedom. Sort of a blast from the past, since I don't listen to any of those three nearly enough.)
