Thank you lord, the summer is over.
We have a three day weekend-ish holiday starting tomorrow for Mid Autumn Festival. The moon will be full on Thursday, which has encouraged me to reflect on how awesome life is. Let's see why:
First, the summer is over. Really, I can't explain how wonderful this is. I'm tired of needing to wash my clothes twice as often because I change every time I leave the blistering hot and humid outside to go to my apartment. I'm tired of sweating within minutes of leaving my front door. I'm tired of dressing like a slob because my decent looking clothes all assume a sub-100 degree temperature.
Why else am I excited that summer is over? My second point: House, Season 7, is available on iTunes. At last! My normal schedule will return!
It's funny how so much is unorganized and makes no sense in China, but it's perfectly ordered chaos. For example, they give us Wednesday through Thursday off for one day holiday, so we need to work Saturday and Sunday to make up for it. Makes no sense, right? Well, oddly, today was hot as hell, and tomorrow, the first day of the holiday, is going to be a refreshing 75 degrees.
And the moon will be full, which is reason enough to celebrate.
So the next few days will be pretty special to me, as will the week long holiday we have starting October 1. Daisy & I will be going with her parents to Shanghai, a first time out of Hangzhou for them in a long time, and will be going on a nice little vacation for Chinese National Days in October. I have never been more grateful that the Autumn is upon us.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, everyone!
Also, I'm eating dumplings and about to watch last week's episode of Mad Men. What a life.
