THE Lowly Peon

Taylor Made

Let me describe for you what high quality means.

Ten years ago I bought my guitar, a Taylor 310-CE. It's at Taylor's lower end of acoustic guitars, but Taylor refuses to make anything of sub-par quality, so even their worst is better than most companies' best. It has been with me all over the country, it has been in a short film that won best student animation of 2007, it has been at some Chicago jazz festival, and has been in numerous coffee shops around the world.

And after ten years, it still smells like the original wood. After ten years, the neck is still straight.

But what amazes me most about this beauty of a guitar is this: I haven't played it since I left for Houston nearly four years ago. And I just picked it up, and not only is it in excellent condition, but it's still in tune.

To the guy(s) who hand-made my Taylor 310-CE, you should be proud. This is craftsmanship at its finest.

It's at the lower end? Wow, then mine must be REALLY bad.

Congratulations though. They do make wonderful guitars.

WJerome: but that's exactly what's so amazing about taylors! their worst stuff is still incredible! (i think their higher end stuff is in the many thousands of dollars...)

plus, it's all hand made, and the wood is carefully chosen. god darn* i love that guitar. so happy it's back in my arms.
