Microsoft lost all data any t-mobile customers had if using a sidekick. this not only shows how important backups are, but also how even huge multi-billion dollar companies goof up. and, above all, it makes me wonder about the future of cloud computing, if one of its largest advocates can fail to back up data prior to server maintenance.

[12 October 2009]WJerome: I'm guessing that's a witty comment I don't understand?

[12 October 2009]thelowlypeon: Yeah, pressed return or something when I didn't mean to and now I can't delete it!

bugmissing functionality. now that i'm back home for almost two weeks i'll try to work on it soon!Benji!
[12 October 2009]Honestly the ability to edit/delete old comments has never made sense to me. For example, if Will deleted or edited his first comment in this thread then none of this would make sense.
So, the only option is to make it so you can edit your comment for a certain amount of time and/or until someone else comments. But it seems really confusing to me that sometimes you can edit your comments and sometimes you can't. And that amount of time changes.
Just be more careful next time Will!

[13 October 2009]bentomas: I like the idea of only being able to edit until someone else comments. or, since Im apparntly quite lazy, I could just leave the link there to tease people.
Benji!
[13 October 2009]And that raises more questions! If you comment twice in a row can you edit both comments or just the second one?
I think being able to edit/delete comments raises so many more usability problems and questions that it isn't worth it. But maybe I am assuming my users are too dumb...

[13 October 2009]bentomas: first rule of programming: assume your users are stupid and incompetent.

[13 October 2009](second rule: comment!!)
Benji!
[13 October 2009]Are you telling me to comment? Or is that the actual second rule, to comment your code?
THE Lowly Peon
[13 October 2009]I mean comment in your code. very important I think.
