Benji, beware!
Past studies have found that people function more or less fine with six or so hours of sleep a night. But this guy realized that the subjects of those studies often would catch a few short naps during the day when they were sent home. So instead, he kept people in a sleep lab for two weeks, in groups sleeping four, six, or eight hours a night. All but the eight hour subjects quickly lost cognitive skills and attention spans.
He does not that about 5% of people need less sleep, but I'll stick with my eight!

[25 April 2011]I exercise, eat fairly well, and try to get 8 hours a night. However, I have to pee often in the night and the light is so bright at 4am here that I basically can't get 8 hours no matter how hard I try. I definitely feel the effects everyday, I think. I get groggy and need naps.
